The Vision

My journey with RayLarae Boutique began in such a fun and unexpected way. I was already part of the boutique’s Facebook group and had always loved the community and style they offered. One day, I started getting tagged in a post over and over again—friends who knew both me and Kelsey (RayLarae’s amazing owner) were letting her know I might be the perfect fit for what she was looking for: a content creator.

I reached out to Kelsey right away and was so excited about the possibility of working together. I had previously modeled for other boutiques, so I was somewhat familiar with the industry—but this felt different. After applying, Kelsey sent me a few pieces to style, and I got to work creating flat lays, modeling the outfits, and filming fun reels and videos. Not long after that, she officially offered me the position—and it’s been an absolute blast since day one!

Brand identity

At its core, RayLarae Boutique is all about bringing cute, high-quality fashion to women in a way that feels fun, approachable, and affordable. Kelsey’s dream was to create more than just a boutique—she wanted to build a brand that makes every woman feel confident, seen, and stylish, no matter her budget or location.

To help bring that energy to life online, we focus on four main content pillars: Style, Real Life, Connection, and Confidence. Every piece of content—whether it’s a flat lay, a reel, or a try-on video—is designed to feel playful yet polished, trendy yet attainable. We’re not afraid to be silly, keep it real, and share the behind-the-scenes moments, because that’s exactly what makes RayLarae feel like more than a boutique—it feels like your fashion-forward best friend.

RayLarae’s brand identity is bold, fun, and relatable. It’s a mix of cozy and cute, everyday staples and head-turning statement pieces—all styled in a way that encourages women to feel amazing in what they wear. Through thoughtful, personality-packed content, we’re building a brand that not only looks good—but makes you feel good, too.

Creating Impact: Types of Content I Craft Using Just My Phone

When I started working with RayLarae, Kelsey already had an amazing vision for the boutique’s social media. Her Instagram was cohesive, stylish, and full of personality—but like so many small business owners, she simply didn’t have the time to manage it all herself. That’s where I came in: to help bring her vision to life consistently, while taking some of the day-to-day pressure off her shoulders.

Each week, I receive new pieces from the boutique to photograph and style. I shoot a mix of modeled photos and flat lays that highlight the textures, details, and overall vibe of the clothing. Alongside that, I create fun, engaging video content—whether it’s a try-on haul for Instagram Stories or a quick reel to show off a best-seller or new arrival. The goal is always to keep the content feeling fresh, relatable, and aligned with the RayLarae brand.

On the social side, I manage daily posts and stories that help promote new arrivals, engage with our community, and keep the boutique top of mind. I also design custom graphics—from monthly Facebook covers to sale announcements and interaction posts—and write product descriptions that reflect the voice of RayLarae: fun, confident, and approachable.

All of this is created right from my phone, which makes it easy to keep up with the fast pace of inventory drops and content needs. It’s been such a rewarding experience to help amplify the heart and soul of RayLarae through intentional, scroll-stopping content—and to do it all in a way that supports a business I genuinely believe in.

MEET KELSEY

Behind every great boutique is a passionate, fearless leader—and for RayLarae, that’s Kelsey Ness. Kelsey is the owner and founder of RayLarae Boutique and the heart behind everything you see. With a natural eye for fashion and a love for helping women feel confident in what they wear, she took a leap of faith and launched her boutique from home back in December 2017.

Since then, RayLarae has grown into a vibrant community and go-to destination for cute, high-quality fashion at an affordable price. Originally from South Dakota, Kelsey is not only a successful business owner but also a devoted wife and proud mom to a beautiful daughter. Her husband just graduated from his medical residency this month—so it’s a big season of celebration for their family!

Kelsey truly is the sweetest, most genuine (and fashionable!) soul you’ll ever meet. Her kindness, creativity, and commitment to her customers are what make RayLarae so special. I feel incredibly lucky to call her my boss and to work alongside her, bringing her vision to life through content. She’s the kind of person who leads with heart—and it shows in everything she does.
